Telegram Is Really Dangerous For You! Though Telegram has more than 500 million users currently, the number is increasing. Because of lots of features and customizing facilities by Telegram, people are rushing into it. Telegram recorded more than 55 million daily active users. Now it has entered into the list of top messaging apps in the world.

Telegram Is Really Dangerous For You

Telegram is supposed to be a secure platform for its users, and it is, most of the time. But, you can not guarantee the security of an app all the time. But they are trusted until unless you make some mistakes. There are things about Telegram that you may not know. And there are some issues with Telegram that you had to know to keep your account and device safe.

Here in this article, I’ll be telling you why Telegram can be dangerous for you. And how you can prevent those issues that can harm. I’ll be talking about some necessary steps that you need to take to stay safe and keep your account safer.

Your Message Isn’t Fully Secured

Telegram does not have end-to-end encryption for the normal chats in Telegram Messenger and Telegram groups. You probably didn’t know that before. Last year when Whatsapp had a security update, people were rushing to Signals and Telegrams and so on—knowing that they are much secure. But the truth is. Telegram is not end-to-end encrypted.

If you do not know what end-to-end encryption is. It says that when you send a text message to a person or a group in Telegram, it won’t directly go to them. First, it will go to the server of Telegram, and then it will be saved there, and then it will go to the messenger of another person.

That means Telegram can read your message and collect your metadata. I am not saying Telegram does that. But they do have the ability to do it. That is a thing that you need to be conscious about Telegram. They can decrypt your chats if they want to do.

End-to-end encryption is a very important thing of a trusted messaging app. Telegram does not have this for its users. But, only in Secret message options, Telegram has end-to-end encryption. It means while you are in a secret message with someone, your messages won’t go to the server of Telegram. It will be directly sent to the person you are chatting with. But, that’s not possible in groups. So, you can not be in a secret chat with everyone all the time.

Be Aware Of Bots And Spam Links

Telegram can be customized highly with a lot of bots that are available there. But those aren’t fully secure or trusted. You can receive spam links or spam files from intruders in Telegram. And you shouldn’t use any untrusted bots there. An article was published in Forbes that explains how malicious threat exploits in Telegram. And more than 150+ malware attacks occurred on the Telegram server.

Well, that does not mean that you have to uninstall it. Even I’m using it for many years. But you have to be aware of what you are sharing and what you are allowing Telegram to do. You also need to be aware of opening everything that has come to you from an untrusted source. And it is recommended to enable 2-step verification in your Telegram app if you want to make it more safe and secure.

Caution About Telegram

The worst thing about Telegram is that it can access your chats, metadata, and contacts (though everyone else like WhatsApp, Facebook, signal do the same, lol). The thing is Telegram bots; telegram bots can be harmful to you. Be 100% careful about using Telegram bots in your chat, channel, groups. Currently, Telegram says that they do not share users’ data for advertisement purposes. But I won’t be surprised if they bring a new update and change this privacy. We have seen it done by other companies in the past.

If Telegram enables end-to-end encryption for normal chats and ensures the security and anti-malware service on their messaging app, it will be too good. What is your thought about Telegram? Let us know in the following.
